A Moment for Mission

And I see better and hold more dear and pleasing the good things which I see you constantly doing, and now, even more, I want and am able to help you and do you good in every way.

St. Angela Merici, Prologue to the Counsels

A Note from the President

Do people ever ask why you’ve made the choice to invest in an all-girls Catholic education for your daughter? While I’m sure you can easily answer based upon your priorities and her experience at Ursuline, I thought it might be interesting for you to see recent research on the advantages of single gender educational settings, particularly for girls.

  • Girls in girls’ schools score higher in reading, mathematics, and science than girls in coed schools,

  • Girls in girls’ schools report a stronger sense of belonging and higher engagement in class;

  • Students in girls’ schools experience fewer classroom disruptions and more positive teacher relationships; and

  • Girls have more confidence and take more healthy risks when boys are not present.

(Source: International Coalition of Girls Schools)

I’ll continue to share this kind of information when it comes my way.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who made our Open House such a huge success. Our Admissions team is deep into enrollment season right now - all of the help makes a huge difference for them as they recruit the Class of 3031.

All my best,

Peggy Slater

Informational meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

We are honored to host 15 students and 2 coworkers from Ursuline High School in Wimbledon, England. This is a rare and great opportunity to meet an Ursuline student from our global sisterhood. We are helping to host an Ursuline Education Network Leadership Conference here at Ursuline Academy, St. Louis, and at the King's House Retreat Center in Belleville, IL. Our families are going to pick them up from the airport on Wednesday, February 10, and host them for one night in their home. The plan is to take them to dinner or have dinner in your home together and then they would spend the night. Families would bring them to school on Thursday, February 11 and they will shadow here for the day, and begin the conference that evening. We will also be hosting students from Blanche de Castille, Nantes, France April 12-24.  If you are interested in hosting a student please come to the Boardroom on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 6:30 p.m. We will give you more detailed information at the meeting.
