St. Angela Merici-9th Counsel

A Note from the President

I shared a while ago that October 21, 2025 is an important day for Ursuline and now it’s just over a week away! On this date, we will be marking the transfer of Ursuline Academy sponsorship from the Ursuline Sisters to the Ursuline Education Foundation.

Our celebration includes a mass celebrated by Archbishop Rozanski, the Sponsorship Transfer Ceremony led by Sr. Peggy Moore, Provincial Prioress, and a reception reflecting the Italian roots of St. Angela Merici. More information and registration can be found at  https://www.ursulinestl.org/sponsorship-ceremony/.

The Sisters have been working over many years to establish the Ursuline Education Foundation. It is the role of sponsor, very simply put, to assure the Vatican that Ursuline operates in a manner true to Roman Catholic teaching and the charism established by St. Angela.

While there will be no noticeable changes on campus as a result of the transfer, it is a point in our history where we will be celebrating the Sisters’ foresight and dedication. The Chair of the Foundation’s Sponsors Council, John Grimes, along with local Stewards Margaret Hesse (UA’85) and Erin Valentine (UA’95) are expected to attend alongside several Ursuline Sisters. I hope you’ll join us!

All my best,

Peggy Slater

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place on Wednesday, October 15 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the gym. There are no appointments for these conferences. They take place on a first come, first serve basis. Teachers, counselors and learning consultants will be available throughout the evening. Please bring a copy of your daughter’s report card or a list of her teachers; however, if you forget, report cards will be available in the gym.

Thank you from the Alumnae Association!

Thank you to the student volunteers and alumnae mothers who made the Class Reunions at UA possible and memorable last weekend! Many compliments were given to our students and school community! If you have not submitted your MobileServe request to Mrs. Kempf, please complete it by the end of the week to earn your service hours.

Attendance Reminder

The easiest way to communicate attendance information is to send the details in an email to attendance@ursulinestl.org. You can also call the main office at (314) 984-2800, then follow the prompt to leave an attendance message. The attendance email and voicemail are checked throughout the day from 7:30am-3:00pm. You can report the following situations using the attendance email or voicemail:

  • Reporting an absence for any reason
  • Scheduling or reporting an early dismissal or appointment
  • Reporting an absence for a college visit (College visits must be reported to the main office like any other absence even though your daughter has completed a college visit form for her teachers.)

Though we value personal communication, it is not necessary to speak to our main office receptionist personally in these situations. In fact, during the Main Office busyness in the morning, it is easier for her to work from emails and voicemails when documenting attendance information in Infinite Campus.
