BE AWARE! USE YOUR VOICE! | |
|
|
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ELIZABETH FRANCIS!
She lives in Houston and turned 115 last Thursday. As the oldest living person in the US she attributes her longevity to her faith, and her secret to a long and happy life is "If the good Lord gave it to you, use it. Speak your mind and don't hold back." As a woman of faith myself, I want to use my voice to help make the world a better place. I'm thankful for United Women Faith because I learn so much and this supportive community of women encourages me to advocate boldly!
Wendy Campbell, President, NTC United Women in Faith

As women of faith we need to be aware of and knowledgeable about legislative budget issues that impact women, children and youth in our communities. Issues and decisions that elevate selfish greed over the needs of all humanity, especially those on the margins. Read more to learn what’s at stake when we don’t stand up and speak out.

"VIDAS ROBODAS"
THE STOLEN LIVES PROJECT
Groups across Texas are adding names of gun violence victims with age and date of their death on T-shirts. These shirts are a powerful representation of those lives in their community cut short by gun violence. Too many victims! Your can customize T-shirts like the UWFaith group* above. Send us your pictures!
This is a great hands-on mission activity. Shirts can be displayed this fall locally and then be part of the display in Austin for the 2025 legislative session. More info here.
Questions? Contact UWFaith member Katie Clark.
