2020 Windham Geocache Adventure!
Looking for a fun activity to try during your next hike on Windham's trails? Let’s go geocaching! Geocaching is a real-life treasure hunting game that uses GPS-enabled devices and GPS coordinates to find hidden treasures called geocaches.

We’ve hidden geocaches at four local parks and preserves: Donnabeth Lippman Park, Lowell Preserve, Mountain Division Trail, and Black Brook Preserve. Each cache contains location-specific wooden nickels. Hit the trail and see if you can find them all!

What do you need?

  • A GPS-enabled smart phone or other GPS device
  • Coordinates for a geocache (found at or by scanning the QR code below
  • Suitable footwear and clothing for the terrain
  •  A sense of adventure!

How do I participate?

  • Create an account at and identify the coordinates for your first cache. (Account required to view coordinates.)
  • Find a cache and take a nickel. (1 nickel per party, please.)
  • Once you’ve found all 4 nickels, turn them in at the Parks & Recreation office at Town Hall to receive your prize.

Geocache Adventure begins Tuesday September 8.
Family Bicycle Club
We've partnered with the Bicycle Coalition of Maine to offer this new virtual "after school" program for families of all ages!

Family bicycle rides are great fun and offer terrific opportunities to learn safe cycling skills together. We'll help you plan and prepare so that good memories can be made.
Participating families will receive weekly "assignments" via email to help learn effective and safe bicycling techniques and recreate together while following pandemic guidelines. Each week consists of a brief video, plus on and off the bike activities, and a suggested family-friendly riding location in southern Maine.

Family Bicycle Club assignments will be sent out weekly on Mondays starting September 21st. You may choose the day of the week that works best for your family's schedule, and get outside to ride!

Please note: there is no cost to participate in Family Bicycle Club, but you MUST register in order to receive assignments via email.

Monthly Lunches
Due to the limitations caused by COVID-19, we know you have been missing the opportunity to “get out and about” with Windham Parks and Recreation, so we are going to bring the entertainment and good food to you! In addition to providing a meal from one of our local restaurants, we will be providing some type of program as well. There will be a maximum number of people allowed in the gym for the in-person option (with safety measures being in place) or we are offering curb-side “to go” meals with the pick-up location being at Town Hall, outside the gym door. Registration is required for both options, with the in-person option being a greater fee due to the cost of the entertainment being provided.

You'll have a hard time not singing along with the Lighthouse Jubilees, who have been singing Gospel and Golden Oldies for nearly 24 years!
