Gavin's tireless work is driven by the words of Bernard Shaw - "I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live."
Gavin is a forward-thinking youth development specialist and community organizer who has dedicated his life to improving conditions for youth and families. He began his
journey as a servant leader in his native city of New Orleans, Louisiana, through his work with the Treme Center as a mentor, program administrator and youth leader. Since graduating from Morehouse College with the prestigious Cum Laude distinction and a B.A. in Psychology, Gavin established a stellar track record of building capacity and measurable impact with a variety of reputable institutions, such as the YMCA, Future Foundation, Department of Juvenile Justice and SWI Consulting (where he developed community-based programs for professional athletes and entertainers). Throughout his career, he has developed over 50 program initiatives in the areas of college and career readiness, STEM, leadership and service. As a tireless fundraiser and grant writer, he has attained substantial funding for neglected communities across the country.
