Right now, we are tracking and standing poised to support our country's small businesses in the midst of our current economic situation. We are partnering with other critical stakeholders to communicate with the senators on theU.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurshipin D.C.
We want to ensure our small businesses are able to access the small business economic stimulus funding, and that their data reference points are included in the public policy process going forward.
We will keep you informed of our efforts in this regard.

Ushering In Leadership NOW
While having to pass through Philadelphia to attend a recent family memorial service, I was reminded of the challenges we faced in the formation of our government. Economic tensions were already building between North and South, including over slavery. In the 21st century, the Constitution is still unfolding.
When I read the Constitution in 10th grade, I was excited about participating in its freedoms -- while, at the very same instant, I saw all of the barriers to my participation. Most of my life's work has been in service to removing those barriers.
I actually like dismantling those barriers!
Looking out from the second floor (of the U.S. Senate) in our first Congress Hall over to Independence Hall.
Right now, one of the most heart-wrenching, devastating barriers to participation in the freedoms of our Constitution is that we have not, as a nation, produced adequate policies to have the everyday citizen meet the financial challenges in the 21st century -- and that includes our small businesses. The public policy accountability that is best positioned to do that work are the subcommittees and full committees of the United States Senate. That is why I am running for the United States Senate, from the flat, hilly state of Georgia -- “to whom much is given much is required”!
