Using Resources to Create a Sense of Belonging

The pandemic (and other stressors) continue to play havoc with our lives. Creating a sense of belonging (the focus of AY 21-22 Inclusive Classroom Training) is essential to our students. A simple check-in with your students: a “rate your mood today” with a reminder of all of the wonderful ISU campus resources to support students can show them that you care and that they belong at ISU. For more ideas, check out CELT’s Teaching Talks series on September 15 with Dr. TJ Stewart from the School of Education sharing ideas to develop care and community in the classroom.

Katie Anthony

Katie joined CELT in June 2021. She is responsible for all CELT communications - web, marketing materials, social media. When
not in the office, Katie can be found working on her dissertation
or spending time with her
soon-to-be husband.
Lori Mickle

Lori joined CELT in December 2020. She is the team member responsible for all things accessibility. When not in the office, Lori can be found outside, gardening, spending time with friends and family, or watching sports - especially if her kids are playing.
Karina Silva

Karina joined CELT in August 2021. She is responsible for managing the Canvas LMS, including ISU AdminTools and is involved with reviewing new instructional technologies. When not in the office, Karina can be found taking care of her baby.
