Utah WIC Provides Guidance on Food Package Substitutions
The COVID-19 pandemic has placed a strain on the food supply chain to keep up with increased consumer demand. Because of this, those families who are participating in the WIC program have found it difficult to fill their food prescriptions based on significant out of stocks. The Utah office of WIC has provided the following food substitution guidance to assist retailers in meeting the needs of WIC clients. Please review the attached memo (click on the button below to download) and adjust your operations accordingly. We have also attached some point of sale signs that can be used to explain these adjustments to consumers.
After reviewing this memo if you still have questions feel free to reach out to association president Dave Davis for clarifications.
