Utah Inland Port public forums and survey—share your voice!
We've kicked off a series of public forums to listen and learn from residents and other stakeholders about their priorities, concerns, and hopes for the future of the Northwest Quadrant of Salt Lake County. This public input will form the foundation of a strategic plan the Utah Inland Port Authority will create for the area.

We've been pleased with the turnout and discussion we've had so far, and we'd love to hear from even more Utahns! Please check out the details of our upcoming public forum below and stay tuned for more dates and locations.

Come and share your thoughts, concerns, and ideas for the Utah Inland Port—and don't forget to bring your friends and family!

Project Background

The proposed Utah Inland Port is a logistics and distribution hub that would create a shipping expressway between West Coast ports and the Intermountain West, connecting Utah businesses to global markets. The port is a landmark opportunity for Utah—bringing local economic benefits, quality jobs, and increased prosperity— but it will take collaboration and foresight to maximize our prosperity and ensure we maintain our great quality of life now and in the future.

The proposed site for the Utah Inland Port, the Northwest Quadrant of Salt Lake County, is positioned at the intersection of two interstate freeways, major national railways, and an international airport—and that means a high demand for expanding warehouses, distribution, and manufacturing needs. This development is already happening, and the Utah Inland Port provides an opportunity to harness the growth to maximize its economic benefits to Utahns while maintaining a high quality of life throughout the area.

The Northwest Quadrant and inland port are already growing, but how we grow matters. Please attend the public forums to give your input on how you think the port should be developed. With your help, we can work together to ensure that the port benefits our prosperity and quality of life—both now and in the future.
Valley Visioning: Phase 1 Public Workshops Complete
We'd like to extend a big thanks to everyone who made it to our Valley Visioning public workshops over the past several months! We've had a blast getting to know you and hearing your great ideas for Utah Valley.

After our first round of public workshops and over 2,000 survey responses, residents' top three concerns related to growth in Utah Valley are:

  1. Air quality
  2. Traffic and congestion
  3. Crowding

Over the coming months, we'll work to incorporate this and lots of other input into distinct scenarios for what the future of Utah Valley might look like. After we create the scenarios, we'll reach back out to you with more workshops and surveys so that you can help create a final vision for Utah Valley that government, business, and community leaders can use as they plan to accommodate nearly one million new residents.

Thank you for your input and your help as we work to ensure that Utah County remains an amazing place to live—both now and in the future.

If you didn't have a chance to attend any of the public workshops but would still like to share your voice, please take the Valley Visioning survey!
Breakfast on the hill: Envision Utah's Legislative Breakfast
Each year, Envision Utah meets with Utah lawmakers at the start of the legislative session to ensure the Your Utah, Your Future vision remains foundational to new law and policy. Many in the legislature were participants in drafting the vision and act as supportive witnesses to the collaborative approach of the Envision Utah process.

This year's legislative breakfast focused on some of Envision Utah's current projects, including the work we're doing with Valley Visioning and the Utah Inland Port Authority . We also heard from Utah Senate President Stuart Adams and Utah House Speaker Brad Wilson on the importance of Envision Utah's role to help our state's leadership focus on long-term strategy, ensuring that we maintain a great quality life both now and in the future. Thanks for a great breakfast legislators!
