DECA and FBLA are proud to be working with the South Valley Chamber!
DECA is a high school program that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management around the globe. FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization that works to help middle school, high school and college students with real life experiences as they continue their education. Both organizations focus on providing students with leadership and competitive experiences.
Last week, the South Valley Chamber hosted DECA and FBLA advisors from around the state. Advisors received training on new competitions and programs offered by both organizations. Students presented state winning projects to help advisors as they prepare their students for competitions this year. Many ideas were shared, and relationships grew. It was a great day for both DECA and FBLA!
The South Valley Chamber works with both DECA and FBLA to host our annual Shark Tank Competition, which brings the best of both organizations together to truly showcase business ideas students have. Students compete with the opportunity to win up to $5,000 of seed money for their business. This is not the only way for chamber members to get involved. DECA and FBLA love partnering with business and industry. You can make a difference in the lives of students! If you are interested in learning more about these organizations or volunteering to be judges please contact Jill Hess, Utah DECA State Advisor at jill@utahdeca.org or Duke Di Stefano, Utah FBLA State Director at statedirector@utahfbla.com.
