Magnum Hunter Resources Corp. changed its name to Blue Ridge Mountain Resources Inc., the Irving, Texas-based company said Jan. 17. The name change was part of the company's rebranding following its successful emergence from Chapter 11 in May 2016. The name change took effect Jan. 17, and the company said it expects the full transition will occur over the next few weeks.

Eclipse Resources Corporation announced Dec. 19 it has completed the sale of approximately 9,900 acres in eastern Noble County and western Monroe County, Ohio, for approximately $63.8 million to an undisclosed buyer.
New power plant using natural gas planned in eastern Ohio

Apex Power Group LLC and Caithness Energy LLC have filed a so-called pre-application letter with the Ohio Power Siting Board to construct a 1,650-megawatt combined-cycle plant in Guernsey County. Construction would begin in the first quarter of 2018 and operations start in the third quarter of 2020.
