COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has no impact on your tap water. Ventura Water is committed to providing its customers with safe, reliable, and quality water services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 
 
The City’s water supply continues to meet all stringent state and federal drinking water requirements.

On Sunday, March 15, 2020, the City of Ventura declared a Local State of Emergency in response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus). The declaration allows critical services and operations to continue while reinforcing best practices identified by the CDC and County Health Officials. Additionally, Ventura Water has implemented a number of utility billing adjustments to support our customers during this challenging time.
 
  • The City of Ventura is suspending water shutoffs for non-payment from March 15, 2020 through May 11, 2020, at which time this rule will be reevaluated. 
  • All new Ventura Water late fees are suspended from March 15, 2020 through May 11, 2020, at which time this rule will be reevaluated.
  • The City of Ventura is granting payment extensions and installment agreements to Ventura Water customers who are impacted by COVID-19 restrictions. Please contact Customer Care at 805- 667-6500.

The Water Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, 2020 will be rescheduled to provide time for the City to review Governor Newsom's Executive Order N-25-20, adopted on March 12, 2020.
 
As we reschedule and plan future meetings, the Brown Act modifications in this Executive Order will be considered, allowing the community to participate in Public Meetings in a way that helps reduce the spread of the COVID-19.
Reminder: do not flush wipes down the drain or toilet. "Flushable" wipes do not disintegrate, creating serious problems in our sewer system. Rather than flushing, please dispose of these products in the trash

Please continue normal use of tap water. COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has not been detected in drinking water supplies. Handwashing with tap water is critical to preventing the spread of the COVID-19. I want to reassure you that we have staff and infrastructure in place to maintain water service around the clock to keep residents healthy, clean and hydrated.
