Rural Cooperative Development Grant Due 8/3/2020
The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture (USDA) is making $5.8 million in grants available under the Rural Cooperative Development Grant (RCDG) program to help improve economic conditions in rural areas. Nonprofit corporations and institutions of higher education are eligible to apply to provide technical assistance to individuals and rural businesses. Fiscal year 2019 award recipients who received a grant period extension due to a loss of operations as a result of the coronavirus pandemic are eligible to apply for fiscal year 2020 funding. Applicants are encouraged to consider projects that provide measurable results in helping rural communities build robust and sustainable economies through strategic investments in infrastructure, partnerships and innovation.
NIH Directors Emergency Transformative Research Awards (R01 Clinical Trial Optional)  Due 9/30/2020
This funding opportunity announcement solicits applications responsive only to the COVID-19 public health emergency through support of the CARES Act. All other Transformative Research Award applications must be submitted in response to RFA-RM-20-013. The NIH Directors Transformative Research Award Program supports individual scientists or groups of scientists proposing groundbreaking, exceptionally innovative, original, and/or unconventional research with the potential to create new scientific paradigms, establish entirely new and improved clinical approaches, or develop transformative technologies.
Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grants

The Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grants program (referred to as Strengthening Community Colleges or SCC) will build the capacity of community colleges to collaborate with employers and the public workforce development system to meet local and regional labor market demand for a skilled workforce. The purpose of this grant is (1) to increase the capacity and responsiveness of community colleges to address the skill development needs of employers and dislocated and unemployed workers, incumbent workers, and new entrants to the workforce; (2) to offer this spectrum of workers and other individuals accelerated career pathways that enable them to gain skills and transition from unemployment to (re)employment quickly; and (3) to address the new challenges associated with the COVID-19 health crisis that necessitate social distancing practices and expanding online and technology-enabled learning and migrating services to a virtual environment.
Digital Healthcare Interventions to Address the Secondary Health Effects Related to Social, Behavioral, and Economic Impacts of COVID-19 (R01- Clinical Trial Optional) Due 03/02/2021
This funding opportunity announcement aims to support research to strengthen the healthcare response to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and future public health emergencies, including pandemics. While research related to the direct clinical effects of COVID-19 are supported by other funding opportunities, the purpose of this funding opportunity is to focus on the role and impact of digital health interventions [e.g., mobile health (mhealth), telemedicine and telehealth, health information technology (IT), and wearable devices] to address access, reach, delivery, effectiveness, scalability and sustainability of health assessments and interventions for secondary effects (e.g., behavioral health or self-management of chronic conditions) that are utilized during and following the pandemic, particularly in populations who experience health disparities and vulnerable populations.
Pre-Solicitation for 2021 Progress Report - Covid-19's Broadscale Impact on People with Disabilities Forecasted
The National Council on Disability (NCD) will seek proposals for a cooperative agreement to develop NCD’s annual progress report which will examine COVID-19’s broadscale impacts on people with disabilities. The research and findings in this report will provide policymakers, including the White House and Congress, and federal agencies, with insight needed to make policy decisions to improve the current and future welfare of people with disabilities in a national emergency like the COVID-19 pandemic. The report will also provide people with disabilities information on federal policy, legislation, and initiatives related to emergency preparedness and response.
