How to find and lift an Anomaly Detection hold

Anomaly Detection is a beneficial tool in PATH used to help institutions detect ACH transactions, batches or wires flagged as possible suspicious activity in comparison to your institution's historical activity to help manage risk and mitigate fraud.

Friday, September 15th

Anomaly Detection will be turned on for your ACHs and wires in PATH.

How do I find and lift an Anomaly Detection hold?

When Anomaly Detection turns on September 15th, any holds on ACHs or wires will show up at the top of your respective Overview page for ACH and wires in a red box with the heading On Hold: Anomaly Detected. It will show you what transaction was put on hold and give you the option to accept or reject the transaction. See an example of a hold notification below.

Clicking Accept allows the wire or ACH to process. Clicking Reject stops the wire or ACH from processing. Once you make a selection, a comment box will appear and you can enter why you accept or reject the Anomaly Detection.

A PATH administrator can grant permissions to any PATH user for receiving email notifications when a transaction is on hold.

Our next communication will highlight the Anomaly Detection settings, explaining how you can and should make adjustments to work with the risk and fraud mitigation strategies of your institution.
