Develop Advocacy Skills with Voices for Virginia's Children and CTIPP

Voices is hosting Storytelling for Change: Legislative Advocacy Edition on January 10, 5:30-7:00pm, a Lunch & Learn on Mental Health Advocacy January 11, 12-1pm, and an Advocacy 101 Workshop on January 11, 6-7pm. And CTIPP has a free 9-part trauma-informed advocacy video series available on their website with lots of tools and strategies!

Calls to Action: Legislation Supporting Cross-Sector Community Coalitions

CTIPP is organizing trauma-informed advocates, activists, and stakeholders to urge their U.S. Senators and Representatives to support two bipartisan, bicameral bills that would significantly help prevent, address, and mitigate the negative impacts of trauma through community-based/led initiatives.

Join Greater Richmond SCAN on January 9, 10:30am-12:30pm for a virtual screening of the documentary PUSHOUT, which takes a close look at the educational, judicial, and societal disparities facing Black girls. Inspired by the groundbreaking book of the same name by renowned scholar, Monique W. Morris, the documentary confronts the ways in which the misunderstanding of Black girlhood has led to excessive punitive discipline, which in turn disrupts one of the most important factors in their lives, their education.
