On June 13th, 1990 VAEA was established in New York to promote the arts and culture of The United States and Venezuela. Click here to see images and founding resolution. On occasion of our 33rd anniversary we are excited to announce our programs and upcoming events.

We can't wait to let you know that we will be announcing the names of two amazing and globally celebrated musicians from the United States and Venezuela that will be the recipients of our highest award The Paez Medal of Art 2022 and 2023.

About the Páez Medal


The Páez Medal of Art is awarded to individuals or groups that have an impact and contribute to the excellence, growth, support and dissemination of the arts in Venezuela and the United States. Previous recipients include: Fundación Empresas Polar and its founder Leonor Giménez de Mendoza in 2021, Canadian-American Architect Frank Gehry and Venezuelan Architect Jimmy Alcock in 2020, Filmmakers American Julian Schnabel and Venezuelan Margot Benacerraf in 2019, Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel in 2018, American writer Bob Colacello in 2017, Venezuelan sculptor Marisol Escobar in 2016, American photographer Annie Leibovitz in 2015, Venezuelan Art Advocate Sofía Imber in 2014, American theater stage director and playwright and visual artist Robert Wilson in 2013 and Venezuelan visual artist Carlos Cruz-Diez in 2012.

Museum Development


With support from VAEA as well as from other corporate and individual supporters we are happy to announce we will open two Venezuelan museums in the near future.


We thank all our donors and friends of our institution for their patronage and to Architect Hermann Ebner for his time and dedication.



Museo de Arte Acarigua-Araure


After a long period of closure following the pandemic during which time the building suffered water damage the Museo de Arte Acarigua-Araure (MAAA) will reopen with a retrospective exhibition of the great photographer Jose Sigala

Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Guanare


A museum will open in a remodeled colonial house in this city with a

selection of our art collection. The exhibition "Collectio Momentum" include the works of international artists in honor the opening of a new museum that will surely impact the arts and education in this community.

VAEA New Rochelle Center for the Arts


Our foundation continues to persevere in our efforts to establish a contemporary art

museum and theater in this important city in Westchester, New York

Site for future VAEA Cultural Center in Main Street New Rochelle. Opening date to be announced.
