VALLEJO, CA- On Saturday, May 3, 2025, at approximately 8:43 p.m., the Vallejo Police Department (VPD) received numerous reports of multiple gunshots heard on the 1600 block of Fairgrounds Drive.
VPD Patrol Division responded to the area and located an adult female victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Officers provided the victim with medical aid until the paramedics arrived, and she was transported to a local hospital.
During this time, another local hospital reported that an adult female victim walked into their facility, also suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Both victims' injuries were later determined to be non-life-threatening.
During the initial response, the Solano County Sheriff's Office, Benicia Police Department, American Canyon Police Department, and the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Air Unit provided mutual aid.
The CHP Air Unit located a vehicle possibly connected to the shooting, leaving the area at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was observed parking on the 200 block of Jill Lane, where a male was seen concealing a firearm in nearby bushes. The CHP Air Unit directed American Canyon officers to the location, and the male was arrested while VPD officers recovered the firearm.
The male arrested was identified as Marquese Alvin Roberts, a 35-year-old Vallejo resident. A records check revealed that Roberts had an outstanding no-bail arrest warrant issued by the U.S. Marshals for a probation violation. He was charged with multiple felonies, including being a felon in possession of an unregistered firearm. Roberts was transported and booked into the Solano County Jail.
The VPD's Patrol Neighborhood Impact Team was activated in response to this incident.
