We have had several requests for multimedia workshops, and this artist was highly recommended by one of our members. The deadline is drawing near and there are only three people signed up so far. We must have a minimum of nine by April 5th to cover the artist's fees or we are forced to cancel.
Thanks, Kristin

Monotypes are one-of-a-kind prints using simple techniques. The classes will provide a basic introduction to the use of the etching press with the introduction of the pin press in creating multi-layered monotypes. Artists will produce a printing plate from an original drawing or design and will become familiar with printmaking processes, tools, and techniques using non-toxic waterbased Akua inks. Drypoint and stencils will be explored. Emphasis will be on color, visual texture, line and composition.

Mark making is a term used to describe the different lines, patterns, and textures we create in an artwork. It applies to any art material(s) we use on any surface(s), not only paint on canvas or pencil on paper. A dot made with a pencil, a line created with a pen, a swirl painted with a brush, these are all types of mark making.
We will also explore Printmaking with foliage natural to the area and Compost Printmaking. Instruction and demonstration will be given on each technique. With generous Open Studio time and non-toxic inks and solvents, printmaking has something for Artist of all skill levels.
Printmaking is not a static process and the journey of printmaking is an ever evolving and changing process.
