VATC Donates $17,500.00 to Vermont Bar Foundation Access to Justice Campaign

VATC is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors approved a $17,500.00 contribution to the Vermont Bar Foundation's Access to Justice Poverty Law Fellowship.

What does Bar-Related look like?

Since 2011 VATC has contributed $190,000.00 to the Access to Justice Fellowship and the Vermont Bar Foundation. In a press release published by Josie Leavitt from Partners in Justice, Andy Mikell explained this year's donation:

“Although Covid presented many challenges along the way, it was a very busy year for real estate transactions. Real estate law offices worked non-stop. The amount of money that VATC can contribute is directly attributable to the business sent to us by the law firms who choose to work with us. The need for Access to Justice is perhaps greater than ever and we were in the fortunate position of being able to increase this year’s contribution knowing that it would serve more Vermonters in need of civil justice.”

Shield Your Business From the Risk of Wire Fraud

We have all been bombarded with emails and other material warning about the risk of wire fraud. At times, it might seem that the risk is overblown. but CATIC knows of numerous instances where agents transferred funds to a fraudulent account, and those funds were not recoverable. The failure to follow proper procedures before wiring funds can be the death knell for a firm’s financial well-being and reputation.

CATIC has established some procedural requirements that will minimize the risk to your firm, and your clients, of falling victim to a wire fraud scheme. Check them out.
