2023 Team BC Program Information

Volleyball BC is excited to announce our 2023 Team BC Pathway of Programs for the upcoming summer.

Team BC programs provide a pathway of program to support athletes and coaches development to reach their full potential within the sport of indoor volleyball.

Athletes ages 14-18 who are passionate about volleyball and want to grow and excel in our sport are invited to find which program they are eligible for and register today!

Team BC IGNITE - 14U
athletes born in 2009 or younger

Team BC IGNITE is an athlete first experience with Team BC. Athletes will experience a multi-day camp where they will develop the skills, confidence and IGNITE their journey in Volleyball.

Athletes and parents can expect a holistic athlete development experience, where athletes will learn through small sided game play competition.

IGNITE camps will be hosted through out the province both on the grass and indoors.

How to Participate: Athletes can get involved by registering at one of the various camps hosted throughout the province in July & August. Team BC IGNITE is an open program to ensure as many athletes as possible get to experience what IGNITE is all about. There is no selection process!

Registration will open in early May, and closes 3 days prior to the start of each camp!
Team BC Zone Program - 15U
athletes born in 2008 or younger

The Team BC Zone Program is the first Team BC experience where athletes are selected to participate in a program. Athletes will build off the IGNITE experience, and continue to GROW their skills for continued growth and prepare for future participation with Team BC High Performance Programs. .

Athletes and parents can expect a holistic athlete development experience, where athletes learn and grow in a competitive team training environment with some of the top athletes with in each athletes region.

For 2023, athletes who participate with the Team BC Zone program are able to represent their home zone at the BC Cup in Kamloops, July 20-23rd.

How to Participate: Athletes can participate in the Zone Program by

1) First attending the Regional Selection camps for their home region. Selection camps consist of 4 hrs of on court play and evaluation, and will take place either May 28/29, June 3/4, June 10/11 .

2) Selected Athletes train in their home region in preparation for the BC Cup July 20-23rd in Kamloops, BC

Team BC Red & Blue - 16U
athletes born in 2007 or younger

The Team BC Red & Blue program is an athlete's first opportunity to be selected to GROW in a High Performance environment, and to compete representing BC at national level competitions.

Athletes and parents can expect a holistic athlete development experience, where athletes will and be fully immersed in a high performance environment with some of the top athletes and coaches in the province of BC.

For 2023, athletes who participate with the Team BC Red & Blue program are able to represent BC at the Canada Cup in St. Catherine's ON, July 20-23rd.

How to Participate: Athletes can participate in the Red & Blue program by:

1a) **New for 2023**Registering and attending a Super Regional Selection Camp. The 3 day selection camps will consist of 12+ hrs of on court and off court training and evaluation, and will prepare athletes for participation in the Team BC Red & Blue program. Camps will take place either May 26-28 or June 2-4.

1b) **New for 2023** Athletes may be identified through evaluation at 16U Provincials and/or participation at the Physical Testing station at 15/16U Youth Provincials in Abbotsford May 5-7. Identified athletes will be notified 5 business days after provincials. Athletes identified through step 1b will do not need to attend the Super Regional Selection Camp.

3) Identified Athletes from step 1a & 1b attend the Team BC Red & Blue HP Camp July 7-12 in Kamloops.

4) Selected athletes stay in Kamloops and train with Team BC July 12-19th in preparation for the Canada Cup July 19-23.

Team BC Select - 18U
athletes born in 2005 or younger

The Team BC Select is the pinnacle program for athletes in the Team BC Development Pathway. Athletes are identified that have future potential to excel and compete for Canada at international levels in the future.

The 2023 Team BC Select program will identify BC’s top athletes (18U), and select to train and compete at the Canada Cup. Athletes will train in a camp-based program for up to 12 days. Training is led by a full coaching staff and integrated support team to ensure athletes meet their full potential.

How to Participate: Athletes can participate in the Select program by:

1) Identified Athletes who previously participated with the Team BC Red & Blue Selection Camp and/or Program in 2022 OR completed the video application for successful evaluation are invited to register and participate with the Team BC Select final selection camp. 

2) Identified Athletes attend the Team BC Final Selection Camp in Burnaby May 26-28.

3) Selected athletes stay in Kamloops and train with Team BC July 12-19th in preparation for the Canada Cup July 19-23.
