ICYMI Clemson Paralympic Soccer is hosting free virtual Veterans camps, helping participants learn the rules of the game, how to play the sport, and coaching skills. VETERAN SPOTLIGHT

Michelle Bulla served in the US Coast Guard 89-04 as a Storekeeper First Class/E-6. She served 6 of those years on the USCGC LEGARE where her collateral duties include, Boarding Team, Rescue Swimmer, EMT, and Helicopter & Docking Teams. She was chosen for independent duty in 1994 to assist in the decommissioning and transfer control of one of the last USCGC Loran Stations, in Lampedusa, Italy, to the Italian Military. For her efforts, she received the Commandant Letter of Commendation. She also earned the Coast Guard Achievement Medal and Special Operations ribbon with 3 bronze stars while serving. Most recently, Michelle joined VBH as a Care Coordinator for the Triad!

THE NUMBER OF VETERANS EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS ROSE SLIGHTLY EVEN BEFORE THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC The number of veterans experiencing homelessness increased in 2020 even before the effects of the coronavirus pandemic damaged employment prospects and financial resources for the community, according to a new report released by the Department of Housing and Urban Development on Thursday. WOMEN VETERANS CAN GET HELP ADDRESSING THEIR NEEDS THROUGH VA PROGRAMS Believe it or not, many women Veterans do not self-identify as Veterans. According to Dr. Laura Miller, psychiatrist and medical director of reproductive mental health for the Veterans Health Administration, this is due in part to the misconception that if women did not engage in combat, they are not considered Veterans.
