WORLD WAR II VET BEATS COVID-19, MARKS 104TH BIRTHDAY An Alabama man who spent World War II repairing bomb-damaged trains in France recovered from a fight with COVID-19 in time to mark his 104th birthday on Thursday.
LEGAL VICTORY AND FALSE HOPE? Veterans advocates recently celebrated the Veterans Legal Services Clinic at Yale Law School’s legal victory in a class action lawsuit against the Army. The lawsuit sought to rectify the Army board’s mishandling of discharge upgrade requests that involved mental health conditions.
ILLINOIS LAWMAKER TAPPED AS NEXT RANKING MEMBER ON HOUSE VETERANS' AFFAIRS COMMITTEE House Republican leaders on Wednesday named Illinois Rep. Mike Bost as their top veterans policy voice for the next congressional session, tapping him to replace retiring Tennessee Rep. Phil Roe as ranking member on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
