Dear VBH Supporter,

First and foremost, we hope that you and your family are well and remain healthy. Thank you for your continued faithfulness to the mission of Veterans Bridge Home.

In early July, our Board and Staff wisely agreed to cancel this year’s Star-Spangled Salute , our signature fundraising event. Our guest of honor and speaker, former Chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff, General Peter Pace, has been gracious in his council during this process, and generously offered to extend his participation to next year. We look forward to our Salute in October 2021, on a date to be set.

While Covid-19 is having a significant impact on our country, we are seeing a marked increase in the number of families we serve. Requests for employment, housing, and mental health support continue. Additionally, historically high numbers of veterans are asking for bill payment and food assistance help. Our dedicated team remains on the front lines to respond quickly, aiding current, and new clients every day. Our fellowship events, hiring fairs, and veteran transition classes continue virtually, sustaining our veteran-to community connection and are making a real difference.

“Thanks to Veterans Bridge Home’s help, networking, and encouragement this spring I got the job in career field I wanted!” —James, Navy veteran

So far in 2020, we have provided critical services to James and 1,024 other families, a 20% increase over 2019’s mid-year’s numbers. For more details on our 2019 impact, see the link below to our annual report

Clearly, the need is as great as ever. Although we have cancelled this year’s Salute, please consider standing by us once again in support of our mission this year, and in 2021. Your financial gift will make a difference in the lives of the men and women who have served our country, and who are now calling our community their home.

With your help, we will successfully navigate our way through one of the most challenging times in our nation’s history. Be the Bridge!

Sincerely,
