Today is the launch of the VBR Foundation Academic Scholarship application. Last year we awarded 21 students with grants in amounts up to $2,000 to attend a college, university or accredited educational institution of higher learning. Please share this program with Eagle County resident students. The deadline to apply is June 18.
All VBR-hosted education is free for VBR members in 2021, and it is an excellent time to work on getting your Vail Pro Designation. The Vail Pro is our local educational program that we created to enhance professionalism with our membership. The classes are geared to increase local knowledge focusing on three areas; industry knowledge, local history, and current events affecting our community.
To get this designation, VBR members must take 46 hours of education, including four required classes: Annual Community Update, Vail Valley History, REALFire (our wildfire program), and the Eagle County Schools Update. You can select other classes from a list of electives. We have 28 members who have completed the designation since its inception in 2017. Sign up now for upcoming classes and learn more about the designation.
Have a great week,
Erica Kirk
