This week, Valley Beth Shalom sent a delegation of 34 members and staff to Sacramento to advocate with legislators on behalf of the California Jewish community. VBS is proud to be the first synagogue in history to become a member of Jewish California (formerly JPAC).
Throughout the summit, our delegation heard from several elected officials on issues impacting the Jewish community and engaged in meaningful conversations about advocacy, public policy, and communal priorities. The summit concluded with lobbying meetings at the Capitol focused on legislation that would expand security grants and strengthen safety measures for synagogues and houses of worship, while also supporting critical social service programs.
