Volunteer of the Week
Emily Jacobson is our Volunteer of the Week !

NeighborWorks Green Bay provides pre-purchase housing counseling, down payment assistance, affordable housing options for moderate to low income residents, and more. Their mission is to engage community to strengthen neighborhoods, improve lives, enhance neighborhood character, promote home-ownership and provide housing choices.

Emily Jacobson has been a resident member of NeighborWorks Green Bay’s Board of Directors since 2015. She is currently the Secretary of the Board. Emily is also Chair and inspiration of the Marketing Committee and sits on the Governance Committee. She willingly takes on new roles and responsibility. She is results driven and leads by example. Emily dives into projects with passion and determination. NeighborWorks has expanded their capacity as an organization, serving more clients than ever before. That is in part because of Emily’s leadership on the Marketing Committee, as well as her direction with the Board. The Board of Directors is more inspired and involved with the organization because of Emily’s efforts and enthusiasm. She inspires people to step out of their comfort zone and participate actively in the organization. Her impact on NeighborWorks Green Bay is easy to see in the enthusiasm and attitudes of the volunteers she works with.

In 2018, NeighborWorks Green Bay wanted a special event for their Annual Meeting. Emily organized and inspired the committee to create an incredible event. She led the various sub-committees, helped create most of the marketing materials and helped guide and support the new marketing employee. She also emceed the event and kept the volunteers and event goers uplifted. This event was crucial to spreading the mission of NeighborWorks Green Bay and was a huge success because of Emily and the Marketing Committee, as well as the Board of Directors she encouraged to get involved. There may be more “glamorous” ways to volunteer, but Emily’s leadership and enthusiasm have been instrumental to NeighborWorks Green Bay in expanding its reach and increasing awareness of the organization and the services provided. She is eager to learn, attending any training she can and shares what she learns to better the organization! Emily truly leads by example. Even when she steps outside of NeighborWorks and her official leadership roles, her passion for NeighborWorks does not end. She is an advocate for the work of NeighborWorks throughout the community, truly sharing their passion to improve our neighborhoods and community!

Thank you, Emily, for helping to ensure that the mission of NeighborWorks Green Bay comes to life!

Need spotlight: They have two brothers, ages 6 and 9, on the far west side of Brown County, who are in need of a positive, consistent adult role model. The boys enjoy art, crafts, sports, being outside and love superheroes.
