Volunteer of the Week
Joyce Fritz
Sher Brandl
Sher Brandl and Joyce Fritz are our Volunteers of the Week !

Sher Brandl and Joyce Fritz have been consistently volunteering their time, talent, and passion for art at Curative Connections' Mind Movers program (for those with early signs of memory loss). They volunteer together to prepare an art class for the Mind Movers program. The preparations begin at conception of the class idea, project, or theme. They also shop for required supplies as well as prepping the necessary tools for each project. The time spent preparing is completely outside of and in addition to the time they are in program. In class, they encourage and support program participants into creating beautiful artwork. Oftentimes, the participants never knew they could create something so beautiful. They provide pa rticipants an opportunity to join in movement to music, creative writing, along with the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of artistic mediums, such as: water colors, oil pastels, chalk drawings, sculpting, collages, card making, clay projects, and much more.

In addition, Sher and Joyce have organized field trips to the Kohler Art Museum in Sheboygan. They have also organized on site programs including taxidermy, and live insects via a UWGB professor. Sher and Joyce also recently secured a donation from the Canary Fund for the Mind Movers program. They always provide a very diverse, creative, and engaging program for participants. These ladies are both exceptionally caring, compassionate, energetic, and have the natural ability to work with older people and people with disabilities.

Sher and Joyce always enter the program with a radiating positive attitude and contagious energy. They have the ability to inspire clients to find their inner artist and let them free. Many clients find a new appreciation and enjoyment of art because of these amazing women. From conception of the project vision, planning, shopping for supplies, and prepping for the classes, Sher and Joyce give it their all and allow each participant the joy of success.

Thank you, Sher and Joyce, for giving participants the opportunity to gain confidence and experience pride in accomplishing an art project!
