Volunteer of the Week
Virginia (Gini) Haske is our Volunteer of the Week!

The Violence Intervention Project (VIP) is a dual sexual assault and domestic violence agency serving Kewaunee County. VIP serves victims and survivors who are in immediate need, as they are experiencing or recovering from their assault, as well as in the period afterwards as they re-establish their independence. VIP facilitates support groups for Latin women, sexual assault survivors, women and youth. They also provide prevention education presentations for grades 4K-12, day cares, after school programs and businesses. Kewaunee County does not have an emergency shelter, however, VIP does offer a transitional living program for victims who are homeless due to domestic violence or sexual assault. This is a goal-based program to help clients become independent again.

Virginia (Gini) Haske currently serves as the board president for Violence Intervention Project. She is also involved with the fundraising committee, and the financial committee. Gini has been volunteering with VIP since 2016. She volunteers at least once a week in some capacity at VIP. Gini's efforts have helped meet the needs of the organization, as she helps to keep their budget on target. Gini has also served on various event committees, such as the Smokehouse Jamboree and the 30th Anniversary Gala. Not only does she serve on these committees, she also volunteers at the events. The funds raised from these events cover expenses that are not covered by grant funding. The organization would be lost without her.

As a community leader, Gini is consistently bringing domestic violence and sexual assault awareness to the community in her various meetings. She is truly an advocate for Violence Intervention Project. Gini is a very busy person, but she makes time for the organization and is willing to do whatever she can to ensure VIP is successful.

Thank you, Gini, for your dedication to serving victims and survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence in Kewaunee County!
