Volunteer of the Week
Mark Piepenburg is our Volunteer of the Week!

Mark Piepenburg is a Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity volunteer. The Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing in Brown County through constructing, rehabilitating, and preserving homes. Since the organization was founded in 1987, Habitat has built 111 homes in partnership with hardworking families in the community. Mark began volunteering in 2006 when his daughter was the Executive Director of Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity. He started mowing Habitat’s vacant lots, before moving to home construction. Mark's volunteering with Habitat did not stop there.

Mark has also volunteered for t he Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity ReStore. In 2009, when the ReStore opened, he began volunteering there, and has been a loyal Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning regular ever since. His specialty is in the tool aisle where he sorts, prices, and stocks tools.

On December 7, 2018, Mark hit a historic milestone during his volunteer shift at the ReStore - 7,000 hours of service. It’s the first time a volunteer for the organization has hit this number. "Mark is part of the ReStore family,” said ReStore Manager, Carl Blomquist. “He’s been here since our first day, and continues to provide us with endless support and tireless work. Without volunteers like Mark, the ReStore could not even exist". On December 7th, they surprised Mark with a cake to celebrate his 7,000 hours of service (see above photo).

Thank you, Mark, for your ongoing dedication to Habitat!
