Looking Ahead to 2026-27

Good News from Mr. Woernle

Greetings Veritas Community,

On behalf of the board, faculty, staff, and administration of Veritas Christian Academy, thank you for the privilege of partnering with you to provide an excellent Christ-centered, classical education for your child(ren).

As we look forward to the coming of Spring, many of us begin planning for the 2026-27 school year. To this end, I would like to provide an update that I believe should encourage our entire community. I am reminded of and appreciate the trust you have placed by your decision to send your child(ren) to Veritas Christian Academy, a decision which I know involves sacrifice and commitment for our school families.

The administration, faculty, staff, school board, and I are committed to providing the best education for our students, and we especially value our returning students and families as they are the foundation for both our school culture and our classes.

Here are some exciting updates worth sharing as we look ahead:

● New quarter-zips that will be added to the uniform.

● New end of the year school-wide celebration on the last day of school.

● Reaccreditation with ACCS (Association of Christian Classical Schools) and

first-time accreditation with SCL (Society for Classical Learning).

Early access to the 2026-27 school calendar.

● Exciting news regarding Logic school updates will be shared later this

month/beginning of next month.

● Raising $116,000 of the $250,000 goal for the Annual Fund, to invest into main campus building improvements.

As we look forward to the 2026-2027 school year, Veritas Christian Academy will continue to seek ways to better meet the needs of our school community. In an effort to sustain and grow our current programs, progress in our Strategic Plan, and fulfill our mission in the 2026-2027 school year, there is a modest 2% increase to tuition for the Grammar (K4-5), Logic (6-8) schools, and Rhetoric (9-12). Be assured that we strive to be great stewards of your investment at Veritas. It is our priority to continue in our mission of providing your student with a top-form Christ-centered classical education.

It is our desire to retain every presently enrolled VCA family; therefore, please be encouraged to apply for tuition assistance should the tuition increase present a hardship for your family. Attached you will find next year’s “Tuition and Fee Schedule, with the increases listed annually and broken down into approximate monthly additions. This schedule will also be available online using the school website. Again, thank you for being a part of the VCA family. We appreciate our Veritas families and delight in educating and nurturing your child(ren).

Nurse's Corner

Despite our community reporting that this is the worst flu season in 15 years, Veritas has had a lower percentage of cases than we normally have by this time of year- I am encouraged!

However, and with sensitivity, this is not to minimize those that have been hit hard- sickness of any kind is not fun.

Here are some insights that have been shared with me from the Henderson County Health Department:

  • Flu A is the most common of the flu viruses and tends to be more severe symptoms that have a quick onset of body aches, fatigue, chills/fever.
  • Flu B tends to be less severe, less common mocking a common cold.
  • For both A and B, some families have reported good results from early intervention of Tamiflu- talk with your doctor.
  • For all respiratory viruses...Flu A or B, Covid, RSV, Strep or common colds -the return to school guidance is the same: 24 hours fever-free without fever-reducing medicine (acetaminophen/ibuprofen) and improving (able to maintain a school day without persistent cough or soupy congestion)
  • Communicable Diseases that are being reported in our surrounding counties- ex. measles, chicken pox...Henderson County does require schools, both public and private, to report certain diseases/conditions that are supported with physician diagnosis. The health department offers quarantine recommendations for students and staff who do not have immunity (natural or via vaccination).

As always, please reach out to me with any questions or concerns:
