Our Varsity Girls Cross Country Team captured the WPAC Championship last week! The Warriors placed five runners in the top 10. Merritt Leik finished first overall with a time of 22:23, to claim conference Runner of the Year! Bryn Griffiths finished 6th (25:11), Shea Nichols finished 7th (25:28), Taylor Baltrusaitis finished 9th (25:38), and Lydia Runnberg finished 10th (25:39). On the boys side, Gunnar Patterson finished with a time of 20:22, which was 6th overall.
The Volleyball Teams had a good week. The Varsity Warriors defeated Haywood Christian and Christ Classical Academy without dropping a set. Veritas will go into the WPAC tournament as the 3 seed, and will play Christian Family Academy at Veritas this evening at 5:00. The JV girls lost to Haywood 2-1, but bounced back to beat Christ Classical 2-0. The JV girls entered the WPAC tournament as the 9 seed. They went on the road and beat Haywood Christian 2–0, and will now play top seeded Nebo Crossing on Tuesday at 4:30 at Nebo. Our Middle School girls won their lone match of the week, defeating Haywood Christian 2-0.
Our Varsity Boys Soccer Team defeated Haywood Christian 9-0, lost to Hickory Christian 4-0, and beat Mt. Pisgah Academy 1-0. The Warriors will go into the WPAC tournament as the 2 seed, and will play Christian Family Academy in the semi-finals. That match will be hosted by Community Christian Academy on Tuesday at 4:00. The MS team lost to Rabun Gap 6-4 to conclude their season. Thank you to head coach, Dale Owen, for coaching the boys this year.
Basketball sign ups are currently underway. Any Logic or Rhetoric student that is interested in trying out for basketball is encouraged to sign up at the front office.
