Last Call: PTF Love Offering

Dear Veritas Community,

Glory to God in the Highest! His blessings are so abundant each day. God has truly blessed our Veritas Family with the BEST teachers and staff.

Years ago, the annual Christmas Love Offering program was created to help our busy Veritas families by simplifying holiday school gift shopping while blessing each Veritas staff member with a unified gift of appreciation and love. Through the years, this has become a cherished tradition.

Participation is completely optional. As you choose to participate this year, for your convenience we have an online giving option. You may also write a check or send cash in an envelope labeled “Love Offering”. Please make checks payable to VCA PTF with “Love Offering” in the memo line.

All donations should be turned in to the office or online no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15th.

We also encourage your children to send in homemade Christmas cards. If your family would like to send in cards for specific teachers and staff, please be sure the person’s first and last name is on the outside of the cards. Cards will be collected, sorted, and packaged to be delivered with the Christmas Love Offering by PTF elves prior to winter break.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to contact Nichole Bishop (nbishop.gm@gmail.com).

We wish you a blessed Holiday Season!

- The PTF Leadership Team

Lessons & Carols

Thank you to all who attended our Lessons & Carols event last Thursday. It is always a blessing to raise our voices and prepare our hearts together during the Advent season.

In case you missed it, we spliced together all of the singing performances by Kindergarten-12th grade. We hope you will share it with family and friends!

Thank you also to PTF and all who helped serve at the Hot Cocoa reception! It was a beautiful time of festive fellowship!

An Update from 8th Grade Ugandan Water Project

An update from Mrs. Miller regarding the 8th grade's support of the Ugandan Water Project:

The rainwater collection systems that the 8th grade students and their community sponsored this fall have been completed and are transforming the lives of people in Uganda. Glory to God!

Because of the 8th graders' support:

538 students and teachers now have access to clean, safe drinking water from the new rainwater collection systems at their schools.

The two schools they were able to help:

Divine Junior School & St. Joseph Kyassimbi Primary School

Ugandan Water Project estimates that the two rainwater collection systems the 8th graders provided eliminate:

44.46 miles of walking per day and 40 hours are saved by providing water at the schools.

Because of the work of these Veritas students, we are one day closer to celebrating the end of Uganda's water crisis!

Warrior News

Our Varsity Girls Basketball Team split a pair of games last week. Veritas lost to Carolina Day 58-38, but bounced back to beat Mountain View Christian 73-22. The MS girls won their lone game of the week, defeating Carolina Day 38-18.

On the boys side, the Varsity Warriors also split their two games last week. Veritas was beaten by Carolina Day 87-66, and then won an overtime game against Mountain View Christian 69-63. The JV boys lost to Mountain View 36-27.

We were able to celebrate Emma Stover signing her commitment letter to play golf at Anderson University. Way to go, Emma!

Go Warriors!

Pace for Pasta 5K

Thank you all for participating in the Pace for Pasta 5k on Saturday. It was a wonderful day to race and an even greater day to raise money for the senior class trip to Italy. Whether you sponsored the race, participated through running or walking the course, or were a spectator cheering others on, we really appreciate your support!
