Happy 100th Day of School!

God has surely blessed Veritas Christian Academy through the 2024-25 school year. It's a fun tradition for our Kindergarten Class to dress up as 100 year-olds to celebrate. Enjoy these adorable photos from last Friday, including some sweet photos from Valentine's Day celebrations and the Father Daughter Dance.

Literature Festival

We are so excited for our annual Literature Festival next week! Mark your calendars for a special week of education and festivity at Veritas, February 24-28.

Make plans to join us on campus on Friday (Feb. 24) for our Book Fair Open House!

We encourage you to make it a special afternoon with your children! Drop-in between 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and take your child shopping at the Book Fair and walk the hallways with them, while admiring the door decorations on each homeroom door.

Theatre Veritas Presents

The Music Man

Theatre Veritas is in need of BAND INSTRUMENTS! This could be a flute, clarinet, saxophone, trombone, tuba, trumpet, french horn, etc. We have 25 kids in our “band” and so far, only two instruments! 

These instruments will not be played and will be used for only one scene. It’s just for “looks." Please contact cstjohnwade@veritasnc.org if you’re able to contribute. Thank you!

Volunteer Help Needed

Dear Veritas Community,

Coach Chris is organizing some work weekends to continue the restoration of the Veritas woods from the storm damage.

Here are the scheduled dates:

• February 22, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
• March 22
• April 26

Please email cschlender@veritasnc.org to RSVP, learn about the work to be done, and to coordinate tools/equipment. This opportunity is available to anyone, regardless of age or experience; there is something for everyone to do!

Warrior News

Our Varsity Basketball Teams had a fantastic week! Both teams won the WPAC Tournament Championship!

Our girls team beat Haywood Christian 63-16, and The Master’s Academy 61-24. Brooke Miller, Kaitlyn Miller, and Shea Nichols were named to the All-Conference Team. Brooke Miller was also named Conference Player of the Year.

Our boys team beat Challenger Early College HS 68-54, Christian Family Academy 46-35, and Lake Lure Classical Academy 52-43. Eli Robbins was named to the All-Conference Team.

On the JV side, our girls team beat Temple 29-22 to advance to the semi-finals of the conference tournament. They were beaten by Pinnacle Classical Academy 42-25. Our boys defeated Nebo Crossing 36-27, but were beaten by Temple Baptist 52-23 in the quarter-finals.

All four teams will host home games in the CSAA State tournament this week!

Tuesday:

• JV girls at 4:00 p.m. against Temple Baptist
• JV boys at 5:00 p.m. against Heritage Christian
• Varsity boys at 6:00 p.m. against Liberty Prep.

Thursday:

• Varsity girls at 5:00 p.m. (opponent is TBD)
