Literature Festival

Literature Festival Week is HERE!

Here is a teaser of a few special events we have lined up for the students this week:

• Reader's Theatres
• Special guest speakers, including Abraham Nhial and author Libby Carty McNamee
• DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) times scheduled each day
• Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric students sharing reading time together
• Door decorating contest and book fair
• Blackout Poetry entries

Make plans to join us on campus on Friday (Feb. 24) for our Book Fair Open House!

We encourage you to make it a special afternoon with your children! Drop-in between 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and take your child shopping at the Book Fair and walk the hallways with them, while admiring the door decorations on each homeroom door.

Theatre Veritas Presents

The Music Man

Theatre Veritas is in need of BAND INSTRUMENTS! This could be a flute, clarinet, saxophone, trombone, tuba, trumpet, french horn, etc. We have 25 kids in our “band” and so far, only two instruments! 

These instruments will not be played and will be used for only one scene. It’s just for “looks." Please contact cstjohnwade@veritasnc.org if you’re able to contribute. Thank you!

Warrior News

The Veritas Girls Basketball Teams had a fantastic week! The Varsity Girls Team won the CSAA State Tournament by beating Forsyth Home Educators 53-41, and Lee Park Prep 69-58. The Warriors finished the season with a record of 20-2. Thank you to head coach Patrick Holcombe, and his assistants, Sydney Holcombe and Thomas McClain for all their work with the girls this year.

The JV Girls also won the CSAA State Tournament by beating Temple Baptist 37-30, and Asheboro Hybrid 38-25. Veritas finished the season with a record of 14-6. Thank you to head coach Sydney Holcombe for guiding the girls during the season.

On the boys side, Veritas finished their season in the semi finals of the CSAA State Tournament. The Warriors defeated Liberty Prep 59-50 in the quarter finals, before falling to Gospel Light Christian 51-45. Veritas finished the season with a record of 14-9. Thank you to Trent Wells and Jimmy Spence for coaching the boys this season.

The JV Boys Team picked up a win against Heritage Christian 60-21 to advance to the Championship of the CSAA State Tournament. They will play HOPE Academy on Thursday at 7:15 at Gospel Light Christian in Winston-Salem. Good luck boys!
