From our Headmaster, Mr. Woernle

What a pleasure it has been to be a part of Veritas this year. It has been a privilege to serve alongside a wonderful faculty and staff as we partner with you in the education of your children. I hope everyone has enjoyed some of the snow days this year. I can honestly say I was not anticipating the “snowpocalypse” in my first year. The Lord is good, and I believe the Lord protected our community.

It is great to celebrate our 100th day of school today and reflect on the Lord’s provision. Our annual fund is moving along, and we are hoping to start improvements to Adler Hall in late May. If you haven’t given to the Veritas Annual Fund, I would ask you to consider donating as we seek to preserve the facilities.

I also wanted to mention that here at Veritas, we value our families, and later this spring, we will be sending out a survey specifically targeted at acquiring feedback from our parents and teachers. It is our heart to serve our community well. So, when the survey goes “live,” please take a moment to fill it out. Thank you all for your support.

Poetry, Declamation Finals Rescheduled Dates

Rhetoric Declamation Finals will be held on Tuesday, February 17 at 6:30 p.m. in The Forum at Veritas.

Logic School's date is still to be determined due the potential of conflicting athletic contests.

Literature Festival Week

Make plans to spend time with your students on campus on Friday, February 27 at our Book Fair and Open House. Drop in anytime 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Walk the hallways with them to see the book door decorating contest, shop the book fair, and more!

Warrior News

Our Varsity Boys Basketball team lost a pair of games last week. The Warriors lost to Lake Lure Classical Academy 69-57, and Liberty Prep 67-57. The JV Boys Team also lost to Lake Lure 46-41, and Liberty Prep 62-28. Both of these teams will host conference tournament games on Monday, February 9th at Veritas. The JV Team will play Community Christian at 6:00 p.m., and the Varsity team will play Temple Baptist at 7:00 p.m..

Our Varsity Girls Team lost an overtime contest to Lake Lure 51-50, and Liberty Prep 37-33. The Warriors will play their first game in the conference tournament against Lake Lure at Christian Family Academy on Thursday, February 12th at 4:15 p.m.

We are beginning sign ups for our spring sports. This spring, we will be offering girls soccer, CoEd golf, and baseball. Any Logic or Rhetoric student is welcome to sign up to tryout. The sign up sheets are at the front office. Practices will begin at the end of this month/beginning of March, depending on the weather.
