Salt & Light Serve-a-thon

Friday, October 3

“After taking a year off to focus on the devastation from Hurricane Helene last September. Veritas Christian Academy will begin its annual day of service again on October 3rd. We call it ‘Salt & Light,’ because we want others to see the light of Christ through those participating. Not only are we able to bless others in our community, but our students, faculty, and parents get to receive a blessing from serving others. We want our students to learn the value of community service, which includes on campus and off campus projects, allowing students to see the difference they could make by partnering with local, regional, and international agencies. We look forward to a great day of serving together."

- Adam Guice, Salt & Light Chairperson

We asked a few of our youngest Warriors about what it means to love and serve others, as we prepare our hearts and minds for this Friday's Salt & Light event. Enjoy the short interview with them:

Warrior News

The Veritas Volleyball Teams had a competitive week. The Varsity girls won all three of their matches, defeating Bethel Christian 3-0, Lake Lure Classical 3-0, and Community Christian 3-1. Our JV girls split their matches. The Warriors beat Lake Lure 2-0, but fell to Community Christian 2-0. Our Middle School Team also split their matches, falling to Asheville Catholic 2-1, but defeating Community Christian 2-0.

Our Varsity Boys Soccer Team won two out of three last week. The Warriors lost to the Trailblazers 4-1, but bounced back to beat Lake Lure 3-0 and Community Christian 9-0. The Middle School boys lost their only match of the week, falling to the Trailblazers 3-0.

Our Cross Country Team had a meet at Lake Lure Classical Academy. Gabriel Graves had the top time for the boys, finishing his race in a time of 28:22. Unfortunately, the girls race was canceled due to lightning.
