ANNOUNCEMENT

Yearbook Picture Make-Up Day is Thursday, January 21st at 8:00 a.m.

Yearbook Picture Make-up Day is primarily for new students and students who were absent on the original picture day.

This picture is for the yearbook only; no portrait packages will be available to purchase.

If your child needs to have a make-up picture taken, please email [email protected].

NEWS FROM NURSE WACK

Our increased mask mandate (Executive Order 181) that was initiated by Governor Roy Cooper on November 25, 2020 has been extended and remains in effect through January 29, 2021.  Please see original letter sent to VCA Community: Increased Mask Mandate

Symptom screenings from home have been effective in keeping symptomatic students and faculty from coming to school. Thank you! We have not had to turn away any students or faculty due to temperatures over 100.4. Combined with this knowledge and updated data from the CDC, temperature screenings will only be conducted on an as-needed basis starting Tuesday, January 19.
THE ACT OF GRACE CAMPAIGN
  We have now raised $492,501.18 -- thanks to our Lord and the generous spirits of the Veritas Community.

Logic & Rhetoric Theatre Veritas

Spring 2021

Join us for our pre-recorded
Easter Production!
Rhetoric and Logic students interested in participating must be registered for the spring drama class. Class spots are limited. Students will get an introduction to acting for the camera! Auditions will be held in class at the start of the new semester. Rehearsals/filming will safely take place during and after school while practicing safe social distancing.

Theatre Veritas’ production will be shared via live stream for VCA family and community in time for Easter!

CHESS CLUB REGISTRATION

Calling all 2nd-12th Grade Chess Players!
Join us after school on Mondays in the Charlotte Mason Center for Nature Studies!

Beginner/Intermediate: 3-4 p.m.
Advanced: 4-5 p.m.
THE PTF CLOTHES CLOSET

The Clothes Closet would love your child's "gently used" outgrown or no longer needed uniform clothing to prepare for the upcoming sale.

You can drop off items at The Clothes Closet any time or at a drive-through clothing drop-off on:

Wednesday 1/20 or Thursday 1/21 at the "VCA Rock" in front of the school between 7:30 am - 8:15 am.

VOLLEYBALL
Both of our volleyball teams won matches last week! The JV Team defeated Community Christian Academy in straight sets, while the Varsity Team beat CCA in 5 sets. The Conference Tournament for both teams begins this week. The Varsity Team will play Nebo Crossing Academy on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. That match will be at Veritas!

The semi-finals and finals are set for Thursday and Saturday at Community Christian Academy. The JV Team will play Nebo Crossing on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Community Christian Academy in the semi-finals of the JV tournament. For Thursday and Saturday, Community Christian is allowing fans to attend, provided they are wearing masks. Good luck, ladies!


BASKETBALL
Our Middle School Basketball Teams have begun practice. The Varsity Teams will begin practicing this week. Each coach should be communicating practice times with parents. If you are not hearing from your child’s coach, please email Lee Burgess at [email protected]
