A LETTER FROM THE BOARD

Although they are not front and center in the daily action at Veritas, the members of the Board work many hours to keep the mission of our school on track, oversee the three million dollar budget and prayerfully navigate the strategic plans for school advancement. Dr. Kim Stalford has been one of those valued members of the Board for nearly three years. She will be rotating off of the Board and we will truly miss her. She has long had a great passion for Veritas and has been a valuable VCA spokesperson for many years. On the Board she is particularly known for her expertise in the arena of college acceptance strategies. She has been a member of the Covid advisory team and she and Michael have been generous in every way towards the growth of our school. Dr. Stalford has had a godly influence throughout the region as a physician, as a Veritas enthusiast and as a mom of two Veritas graduates (Jimmy 2018, Katherine 2020). She plans to take more time to be with her parents, but promises to be at Veritas events in coming years. Please join us as we give thanks to Dr. Stalford for her years of service.

A VERY SPECIAL VCA HOUSE COLOR DAY
About VCA Houses
The Rhetoric School has four houses, which are named Homer, Dante, Milton and Virgil. These are named after epic poets. The main goal is that students in rhetoric school, whether in 9th-12th grow in camaraderie and companionship. This also allows students to have the opportunity to strengthen friendships among all high school classes as well as leaders given chances to lead.

VCA Color Day
In an effort to show school spirit within our community and campus, we have instituted a new tradition this year, VCA House Color Days, which are set monthly. Each house has a color assigned to it. Homer is red, Virgil is blue, Dante is purple, and Milton is green. The Grammar school classes have been assigned a certain house to support and all students will be encouraged to wear that color on this day. The Logic school students are able to choose what house they want to support and wear that color.

Beautiful CommUNITY Art
Last week's House Color Day included Rhetoric students visiting Grammar students to show them their completed collages which hang in the Rhetoric School's Venerable Bede Hall.

Each student colored a piece to be included. It was fun for them to point out their piece and also to see their pride in the beautiful compilation!

SALT & LIGHT SERVICE "THANK YOU"

We wanted to share this note from Mission Hospital. Thank you all for continuing to support Salt & Light Reimagined this year. Our students are blessed in return, by serving others this school year!

Dear Veritas Students,

On behalf of team members on the 6th floor Behavioral Health Unit, let me express how much we appreciate the “Care for You” gift bags you donated in December. This was a wonderful surprise for the staff! To know that community members think of them and appreciate the challenging work they do means a lot. Your gift really brightened their day.

What you have done is very special and we appreciate the time and effort it took you to create these care packages. Please know that this letter comes with a great big THANK YOU!

Sincerely,

Judy Haney

ONLINE STRINGS CLASS

REGISTRATION...NOW OPEN!

Students can choose to study the violin, viola, or cello.
WARRIOR NEWS
