The focus of our Spotlight Series is introducing you to other Friends of the Village--neighbors you will get to know better as we rebuild and in the future, as we open and launch our programming!
Meet Jan & Troy
Jan Hastings has memories in Palm City going back to 1989, when she first moved here as a child with her parents. In 2008, Jan and husband, Troy Cornea, put down roots in Crane Creek when they purchased a home where they could envision seeing future children grow up. Now parents to two elementary-aged daughters, Jan & Troy enjoy the benefits of living in what they consider a unique and special community.
“Even as a teenager, I appreciated how different this neighborhood was than most in the area,” said Jan. “While Troy and I lived in the Abacos when we first got married, we always knew we would move back to Palm City once we started our family.”
The Hastings-Cornea family is a busy one, often going in multiple directions to kids activities and juggling the responsibilities of working parents. Jan is a flight attendant out of Miami and Troy owns and operates several Bahamian businesses and travels there often.
Their fast-paced life leaves them cherishing any quiet down-time where their schedules are clear just to be together in the backyard or ride bikes through the neighborhood. Away from home, they enjoy snow skiing or boating in the Bahamas and exploring new places.
On the renewal of The Village Club & Preserve, Jan and Troy look forward to having a place to gather and meet other families. “We are excited to have a place where our children can play, a special place where they can grow up and make memories,” said Jan.
Thank you, Jan & Troy, for your support! We look forward to the day when you can bike to the VCP with the family!
