Dear VCS Skyway Families,
As was communicated this past Friday, VCS Skyway campus developed a “Rainy Day Protocol” where all classes would be taught exclusively online during days of inclement weather. If you missed that communication, we had previously recommended that students choose distance learning on days with poor weather. However, the county has become more restrictive since our initial plan, necessitating that we make this mandatory for all students as Santa Clara County does not allow non-cohorted students to eat indoors. The covered outdoor space on the Skyway campus is not sufficient square footage to accommodate all our students. This does not apply to the elementary school as they are in cohorts and can eat with their cohort indoors while social distancing.
Given that the forecasts call for rain tomorrow, Tuesday, November 17th, beginning around noon, we are taking action to close the Skyway campus to students, and all classes will be taught exclusively online. Please look for additional communications from our program leaders regarding any impact on co-curricular activities in which your student(s) are participating.
Please know that our goal is to keep our students as safe as possible. VCS will proactively close the campus in the short term to remain open for the long term.
In this together,
Valley Christian Schools
