VCS High School Principal Announcement

Dear Vacaville Christian Community,

After a comprehensive search and interview process that included faculty, operational staff, administrators, parents, and members of our Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce that we have hired a High School Principal / Director of Academics and Spiritual Life, Lynda Snelgrove. Mrs. Snelgrove (who received her Master’s Degree in Education in 2010) brings a wealth of experience and leadership to our school. She has been a leader in independent schools for the past 13 years, as well as a member of the adjunct faculty at several universities. Most recently, Lynda has served as the Junior High / High School Principal at Pacific Point Christian Schools near San Jose.

Mrs. Snelgrove’s first day at VCS will be September 6th, where she will begin a transition into her new role. I will continue to serve as both the Head of School and High School Principal throughout much of the fall, while Lynda acclimates to our school. I’m confident that this transition will provide Lynda the time to both build relationships and learn the culture of VCS before transitioning to the full duties of her new role.

We have arranged a Meet and Greet with Mrs. Snelgrove in the HS Student Lounge during high school orientation on Wednesday, August 17th (from 8:00am to 12:00pm). Drinks and refreshments will be provided. Lynda is excited to connect with members of our VCS community, and I encourage both students and families to stop by and introduce themselves. Dear Staff, Families, Students,

The Snelgrove family, or "the Grove'' as we like to call ourselves, was established on August 19, 1989, when Andrew and I were married. Jesus, education, and sports have been part of our lives since the beginning of our family's story. We will be celebrating our 33rd anniversary on August 19th. How we met is up for debate - either on the basketball court between our practices or on the beach at student orientation, depending on which one of us you ask. Over these years, we have worked together, coached together, and raised two sons together. Our firstborn son, Devon (24), graduated with a BS in Marketing and is in the home stretch in finishing up his Master's in Business Administration. Like both of his parents, he was a collegiate basketball player, and he was a graduate assistant in the athletic department of his university. Our younger son, Derryn (21) is in his junior year in college. He played collegiate football for three years and has decided that he is done with the cold Minnesota winters and will finish up his studies in Animation in the warmth of California. Our family enjoys sports, music, movies, and just being able to hang out together. We are looking forward to getting to know the Vacaville area and Vacaville Christian Schools in particular and seeing how the Lord will use us.
