Here is what is happening at VCS from Early Ed to High School!
VCS Weekly Newsletters and Updates
June 28, 2019
Dear Vacaville Christian Community,
While summer is an opportunity for students and faculty to take time away from school, many of our staff continue to serve VCS in many ways, including preparation for the coming year. Our operational staff are working hard to develop our school facilities for the fall. Earlier in the month, for example, our team removed several modular buildings near our sports complex in an effort to better utilize space on campus and also reduce costs! Additionally, we are continuing to transition our business office and will keep you up to date as changes occur. We look forward to providing a high level of service in which we meet the needs of all our families.
Our academic programs continue to be a focus. On June 6th and 7th, for example, many of our teachers and leaders met with Nathan Talley, the Director of Spiritual Development at Monte Vista Christian, for a two-day collaborative discussion. We worked constructively on how to better improve our education and spiritual development at VCS. This fall, we are offering coding in our extracurricular enrichment at VCS! VCS will partner with the Africa Code Academy (https://africacode.org/), and students will learn to code and connect with a student coding counterpart in Africa. Look for more information to come later. Other developments are moving forward this summer, such as the adoption of a Quest for Space program (https://www.questforspace.com/), 3D printing labs, and the revamping of our elementary math program, to name a few.
Football, volleyball, and cross country athletes, along with their coaches, are preparing now for the coming seasons. The Falcon football team squares off at Stoneridge Christian on August 23rd for the first game of the year. The first home game under the lights at Falcon field will take place on Fri., Aug. 30th against the California School for the Deaf. On Aug. 23rd, the Varsity lady Falcons volleyball match up away against Buckingham Charter, and the varsity cross country team plans to run away with their first victory at an invitational in Lodi. All sports games, along with other important school calendar events, can be found at https://www.go-vcs.com/calendars.
I hope you enjoyed Father’s Day earlier in June, and I encourage all to take time as a family during the upcoming 4th of July holiday. I pray that you grow closer together as a family and walk in blessing for the remainder of the summer, as we continue to prepare for the 2019-20 school year.
