On Monday, we celebrate Veterans Day. Please remember that in celebration of the holiday, there is no school. Veterans Day serves as an opportunity to remember those who gave their lives in service to our country. Though we turn on the news and see a state as well as a nation that has moved far from the values of our founding, I’m thankful that at VCS we stand for Biblical truth and teach our students the ideals of Western Civilization, embodied in the American founding. In gratitude, I am reminded of the inveterate leader and former president, Abraham Lincoln, who said,
“Honor to the Soldier, and Sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his country’s cause. Honor also to the citizen who cares for his brother in the field, and serves, as he best can, the same cause.”
I pray for God’s richness and blessing on both our school, our state, and our country.
