VEDA Annual Membership Meeting & Year-End Reception Omni Richmond Hotel

VEDA’s annual gathering in Richmond will take place on Thursday, December 3, 2026, at the Omni Richmond Hotel. We’re shaking things up this year – the focus will be on recognizing everyone’s hard work this year and taking a look at what’s on the horizon for 2027.

We will take time in the afternoon to conduct the important business of the organization, electing officers and directors and reviewing 2026. During the meeting we will recognize some outstanding volunteers with the Cardinal Award, the Rising Star Award, and Garrett Hart’s President’s Award. Last, but not least, we’ll have a look at what 2027 will bring!

Following the business meeting, we’ll close out the year and celebrate with a Networking Reception -- there will be food, drink, and a chance to connect with fellow members and friends.

We look forward to seeing you all as we close out the year with Stronger Connections. Stronger Communities. Stronger Virginia.

VEDA and the Virginia Tech Center for Economic and Community Engagement have joined forces to present the Virginia Industrial Development Authorities Institute for 2026.

This two-day virtual seminar will focus on the foundations of IDAs/EDAs and the important role they play in economic and community development. It is designed for directors and members from IDAs/EDAs, government administrators, and economic and community development professionals.

Virginia Institute for Economic Development (VIED)

VEDA and the Virginia Tech Center for Economic and Community Engagement have joined forces to present the Virginia Institute for Economic Development (VIED) for 2027.

This two-day online seminar will provide training in the economic development process and outlines how this process is used to benefit Virginia's cities, counties, and towns in furthering economic growth and prosperity. During this course, industry professionals will focus on the fundamentals of economic development and what the fundamentals mean to economic developers in Virginia.

The VIED program is designed to serve the needs of new economic development professionals; economic development staff; and economic development professionals in Virginia. Local government officials and volunteer community leaders can benefit as well.
