Mike Grundmann, Senior Vice President of Talent Solutions for the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), received the 2024 President’s Award from the Virginia Economic Developers Association (VEDA).

VEDA, a nonpartisan membership organization, serves as the voice in Virginia for shaping economic development public policy and a primary source of strong and effective education and networking for economic development professionals.

Annually, VEDA’s outgoing president recognizes an outstanding member or members for exemplary contributions to the membership-based nonprofit.

Grundmann, who joined VEDP in 2019, has “played a pivotal role in attracting transformative projects to the Commonwealth,” Linda Green, VEDA’s 2024 President, said when presenting the award at the organization’s Winter Membership Meeting in Richmond.

“By recruiting top talent and crafting innovative solutions for workforce development, (Grundmann) has not only advanced the state’s economic competitiveness, but also enriched the lives of countless employees and communities.”

One of the defining hallmarks of Grundmann’s leadership, Green said, is his commitment to servant leadership.

Under his stewardship, the Virginia’s Talent Solutions team was recognized as the nation’s leader in customized training by Business Facilities in both 2023 and 2024.

“This extraordinary achievement is a testament to his vision, innovation and relentless pursuit of excellence,” Green said. “Mike, your leadership is the kind that inspires not just your team, but all of us who have the privilege of witnessing your work. You have led with vision and purpose, ensuring the prosperity of those around you.”

Previous President’s Award recipients include Paul Bryan (Froehling & Robertson) and Kristen Costello (Dewberry) in 2023, Christy Morton (Two Capitols Consulting) in 2022, Stephen Moret (Strada Foundation) in 2021, Jody A. Keenan (Virginia SBDC Network) in 2020 and Christopher D. Lloyd (McGuireWoods Consulting) in 2017.
