government boats are their only hope to return home. The government boat service ends at 9 PM. After that, if anyone on the islets falls ill and needs to be taken to a hospital, it becomes extremely challenging...under these circumstances. When it rains continuously, both travel and daily life become even more difficult....
The primary livelihoods are paddy farming and fishing. However, during heavy, non-stop rainfall, water overflows into the fields and destroys crops right around harvest time, plunging the locals into deep sorrow.... When the rain poured relentlessly, people were unable to bury those who passed away.... We saw the watermarks left behind on the walls of the flooded houses as the water receded....
The Lord gave us a couple of efficient and sincere local volunteers who knows the region well and identifying the most deserving families. When we spoke with the local people, they expressed that their most urgent needs at the moment were kits containing food provisions and clothing.
.... We were able to provide food provision kits to 100 families and clothing to 23 families. After receiving the items, many held our hands to express their gratitude, and we saw tears flowing from their eyes.... Even after completing our work and returning to Trivandrum, the people who received the relief materials continued to call us on the phone to express their heartfelt gratitude.... Another thing that amazed us was meeting some of the students of our Truth & Freedom Bible Correspondence Course....
Thank you very much beloved Dr. Jan Milton and the ORH team for this big help. May the Lord bless you all. To God be the glory. James & Dali Varghese Truth & Freedom Bible School Vision 2020 Asia Trivandrum Kerala, India"
Thank you for giving so ORH can be a help in time of need!
