A Message from Our CEO
Winter brings lower temperatures and the potential for freezing rain, sleet and snow which can wreak havoc on our roads and highways. Outside of combating chilly mornings and extended commute times, it’s important for you to think about one of your most valuable assets: your vehicle.

Sincerely,
Martin "Marty" Schwartz

Coming "Full Circle"
Are you familiar with Full Circle Auto Repair & Training Center , a subsidiary of Vehicles for Change?

Full Circle combines transparent, affordable auto repair, maintenance and service with a heart. In addition to providing high-quality, lower-cost automotive services, Full Circle houses a six-month reentry program that teaches returning citizens the skills necessary to thrive.

This month, we invite you to meet Perry, a recent graduate of our Full Circle training program. Before entering the program, Perry had tried his best to prepare for re-entering society. However, with limited technical skills and training, his opportunities were limited.

Recipient Spotlight
Ameena is a hard-working mother of two beautiful girls, ages 8 and 5. Currently, Ameena works at a cemetery in Suitland Maryland as a sales counselor. Without her own transportation, Ameena used 3 buses to get her daughters to school and herself to work. However, the commute ended up amounting to 2.5 hours each way. “If I left work at 5:00 PM, my daughters and I wouldn’t get home until 7:30 PM,” she said.

Roof Update!
You may have seen in our last e-newsletter and on our social media channels last month that the roof of our Halethorpe garage was in desperate need of repair.

Thanks to you, our loyal supporters, and the help of an extremely generous private donor, we're happy to report we've raised the money needed to repair our roof and ensure the safety of our staff and automotive trainees!

We appreciate your generosity, and roof repairs will begin soon!
Furloughed? Consider LYFT!
Although the government shutdown has ended temporarily, it was still the longest government shutdown in U.S. history. More than 800,000 people didn't receive paychecks, causing extreme financial strain on families and individuals in need.

If you or a close friend or loved one have been affected by the shutdown, we encourage you to consider learning more about driving for LYFT, one of Vehicles for Change's partners!
