Instructions for Submitting Banking Information
for Medicaid $20 Per Day Add-On

This week, the General Assembly approved Gov. Ralph Northam’s $20 per day add-on to Medicaid nursing facility reimbursement during the COVID-19 emergency. While the implementation details are yet to be finalized, we have had multiple conversations with DMAS and the managed care organizations (MCOs) about how this process will be implemented. Please review the preliminary information we have received about the add-on for your planning purposes.

Because distribution of this funding will occur outside the normal claims processing systems, the CCC Plus MCOs are requesting a one-time submission of banking information for all your facilities and a copy of W-9s. We are recommending you do this as soon as possible (even before the DMAS guidance is finalized).

These should be sent encrypted to:

Update to Provider Relief Fund FAQs

AHCA/NCAL’s FAQs on the Provider Relief Fund has been updated as of today (April 24) to include information on the additional funding to be released this week.

We will share additional updates as more information becomes available.
Suspension of Nursing Facility
Preadmission Screening Requirement

In new Executive Order 58, Gov. Ralph Northam announced that DMAS will suspend preadmission screening pursuant to § 32.1-330 of the Code of Virginia. All new nursing facility admissions will be treated like exempted hospital discharges.
How to Request Medical Reserve Corps Volunteers

VDH has established a process for facilities to request Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) volunteers. Facilities should visit the VDH MRC Volunteer Request webpage to access step-by-step instructions, the request from, and template Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Regional coordinators will receive the requests and work with the facilities to staff. Efforts are being made to quickly ramp up operations to support the most critical needs. The VDH Office of Emergency Preparedness appreciates your patience as it implements this new process and fulfill this new mission.

Last week Gov. Ralph Northam announced a statewide effort in collaboration with the MRC to recruit medical and non-medical volunteers in the fight against COVID-19.
