Greetings!
No. CDC Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion issued a statement yesterday that the CDC HCW guidance (issued 12/23/21) stands. CDC acknowledges the difference between the 5-day general public versus 7-day conventional HCW isolation period.
Does the new general population I&Q guidance apply to patients/residents in healthcare facilities?
- This information was shared with VDH Health Districts last night, and a call is scheduled today to further discuss with Health Districts to ensure everyone is on the same page. We also have a call with CDC today and will keep you updated if there are additional changes.
-
A VDH clinician letter was released this morning (this replaces the clinician letter that was partially shared earlier this week).
Does the state have staffing resources for LTCFs in light of Omicron concerns?
There are no state staffing resources and no plans in place to provide emergency staffing to LTCFs. VDH continues to monitor the situation and communicate with federal partners. Please continue to communicate needs to me.
Does the state have testing supplies for LTCFs in light of supply shortages?
VDH does not currently have testing supplies available for LTCFs, however, VDH continues to work with suppliers and plans to order additional antigen testing supplies. We anticipate having additional supply in January. VDH expects supply will still be limited and we will be evaluating how to prioritize distribution of supplies. Expect communication the first week of January for more information about the ordering process. If you have additional questions or concerns, please email those to April at [email protected].
Sincerely,
