SAVE THE DATE - March Is Bleeding Disorder Awareness Month: We Need Your Help!
March is Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month, and we need your help to spread awareness and raise funds! This year, with your help our goal is to raise at least $2,500 from our amazing community of donors, constituents and supporters that will fund our 2021 VHF Scholarship Program.

When you make a donation to VHF, 100% of your gift stays local in support of YOUR community. Next month, we will be highlighting some of our incredible scholarship winners so you can see just who your gift is helping!
VHF Mission Spotlight: Financial Assistance Program
VHF has been fortunate to continue to assist constituents during this difficult time. Thanks to the Colburn-Keenan Foundation Inc.'s COVID-19 Community Relief Grant Program, we were able to partner with Virginia’s Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTC's) to offer over $2,500 in grocery gift cards to benefit individuals and/or families.

In addition, your financial support, along with the Hemophilia Alliance Foundation, Novo Nordisk, and Takeda has allowed us to ensure that we have the resources available to help individuals and/or families in need during this pandemic with such things as medical expenses and equipment, and assistance with utilities and rent.
Hemophilia Federation of America (HFA) COVID-19 Vaccine Forum
Hemophilia Federation of America hosted an excellent line-up of experts, including well-known epidemiologists from NIH and UCLA, as well as leading HTC medical professionals, who answered questions about the COVID-19 vaccination in those with bleeding disorders during the COVID-19 Forum on Jan. 26, 2021.
Organizations Develop Guidelines on the Diagnosis and Management of VWD
The American Society of Hematology (ASH), the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF), and World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) have developed joint clinical practice guidelines on the diagnosis and management of von Willebrand disease (VWD), the world’s most common inherited bleeding disorder. The guidelines were published in Blood Advances.
